K-Electric’s Flagship Program Yaqeen – Enabling Abilities

K-Electric’s flagship program, Yaqeen – Enabling Abilities, stands out as a remarkable initiative championing inclusion for persons with disabilities (PWDs). This program has not only created internship opportunities but also facilitated permanent employment, fostering a culture of equality and empowerment.

In collaboration with leading NGOs, K-Electric onboarded 10 talented individuals with hearing, speech, and intellectual disabilities under its internship program this year. These interns contributed significantly across various departments, demonstrating their capabilities and value to the organization. A notable success story is Wahab Ahmed, a hearing- and speech-impaired intern, who has been regularized as a Data Processing Officer in the Distribution department.

K-Electric’s commitment extends beyond internships, as it actively hires PWDs in permanent roles. Recently, Mariam Kousar, a visually impaired professional, joined as Assistant Manager in the Talent Acquisition department. To ensure a smooth onboarding experience, the organization conducted sensitization sessions for teams and stakeholders, paving the way for inclusive integration.

PBDN commends K-Electric for setting a benchmark in inclusive employment practices, contributing to the professional growth of persons with disabilities and fostering a workplace culture that values diversity. Their efforts illuminate the path toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
