Mr. Masood Naqi
Mr. Masood Naqi, CEO of Prestige Apparels & Director of Rajby Industries, is considered one of the leading Industrialists in the field of clothing and denim manufacturing in Pakistan since 1972. Currently, he is as an advisor of the Economic Council (EFP-EC) since 2018. His leadership and innovation proudly earn him the credibility for being the top textile exporter of Pakistan. He headed many other leading non-profitable Institutions like KATI, KITE, PRGMEA and worked for CPLC.
He envisions diversifying the export market for Pakistan through investing in the African Continent. Mr. Naqi is the Chairman of the ‘Look Africa’ Committee in the EFP which was initiated by the MOC (Ministry of Commerce) in 2017. Mr. Naqi’s contribution to the Look Africa Project was acknowledged by the Hon’ble President Arif Alvi at the ‘EFP Exporters Recognition Award’ held on 28th June’21 in President House, Islamabad, and affirmed the Government’s support for this monumental project.
The “Look Africa” Project will have positive impacts on Pakistan’s economy. This includes the increased employment rate, improved cultural exchange, and reduction in the trade deficit of Pakistan. Moreover, increasing Pakistan’s share of products in the international market and technological up-gradation in the country.
Mr. Ijaz A. Khokhar is currently the Director of Employers’ Federation of Pakistan and has continued to show immense progression and support to the vision of EFP. He is the Managing Director of Ashraf Industries (Pvt.) Ltd which is prestigiously based in Sialkot and has been recognized for his efforts by receiving the Highest Civil Award in the Business Community ‘SITARA-E-IMTIAZ’ awarded by President of Pakistan on 23rd March 2007. Furthermore, the Prime Minister awarded him with the ‘Business Man of the Year Award,’ gold Medal in 2007. His contribution is immense in the field of Apparel manufacturing for over five decades. On the basis of his accomplishments he has been nominated as a member of the National Export Development Board under the current Government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Committed to expediting trade with European Union Countries, Mr. Khokhar is the chairman of the working committee of GSP Plus, to ensure the continuity of the GSP Plus status, which is integral for Pakistan not only in terms of the Business Community but also aiding in the facilitation of the ‘Soft Image’ of Pakistan. His ability to highlight and conceptualize this monumental agenda to the International Community and bringing to light this massive issue to EU Ambassador of Pakistan showcases his compelling efforts to the importance GSP Plus status. Through the combine efforts of PRGMEA for which he is the Chief Coordinator of, it has now become a perpetual conviction to ensure Pakistan’s economic stability to be prioritized.
