It is informed that the International Labour Conference has upgraded and added two ILO Conventions C-155 and C-187 on Occupational Safety and Health to the existing Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW). The ILO member states are now required to respect and promote these Principles and Rights irrespective of whether they have ratified the conventions or not. It has also become important for Employers to comply with the provision of Provincial legislation on Health and International Core Labour Standards.
Therefore, the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) jointly with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Islamabad Industrial Association (IIA), with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) has planned to organize two Awareness Raising and Capacity Building Workshops on OSH Conventions in Lahore and Islamabad on the following dates:

The purpose of the Workshop is to build the capacity of employers to better understand the above two OSH Conventions, related obligations, and requirements for creating a healthy and safe working environment. A copy of the Concept Note and Agenda is attached.
In view of the importance of the programme, Members are requested to attend or nominate a senior representative to attend the Workshop. Companies located outside Punjab but having their offices in Punjab may also nominate their senior representatives to attend from their respective offices.
