‘Roshnaas’ Program for Persons with Disabilities

At Meezan Bank, we are committed to setting trends and leading in all facets of our business. As part of our dedication to social responsibility and inclusive practices, our Human Resources and Learning & Development (HR, L&D) Group has crafted a robust strategy to integrate Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) into our workforce. This initiative is specifically designed for individuals categorized as Virtually Impaired, Hearing & Speech Impaired, and Physically Challenged.

A Focus on Inclusivity:
Central to our strategy is the introduction of the ‘Roshnaas’ program—a pioneering initiative that aims to empower PWDs through structured internships within Meezan Bank. This program not only enhances their professional skills but also fosters an inclusive workplace culture where every individual feels valued and respected.

Program Highlights:
Under the ‘Roshnaas’ program, PWDs engage as trainees across various departments, gaining hands-on experience and skill development under the guidance of experienced mentors. The program is tailored to offer meaningful opportunities for growth in a competitive work environment, ensuring that each intern can contribute effectively to our organizational goals.

Through ‘Roshnaas,’ Meezan Bank is committed to breaking down societal barriers and creating a diverse workforce that reflects our core values of equality and opportunity for all. Celebrating Success:
We are delighted to announce the successful induction of 13 interns through the inaugural ‘Roshnaas’ program. These interns have joined various departments of Meezan Bank, bringing their unique perspectives and talents to our team. Each intern is supported by dedicated mentors who are passionate about their professional development and committed to ensuring their success within our organization.

Enhancing Sensitivity and Training:
To foster a supportive environment for PWDs, Meezan Bank has arranged in-person sensitization sessions for Head Office staff. Additionally, we have launched a comprehensive video and e-learning for sensitization across the Bank, ensuring that awareness and understanding are spread widely within our organization. Furthermore, customized training sessions have been provided for supervisors of PWDs, equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively support their team members.

 


Success and Expansion:
Building on the success of the ‘Roshnaas’ program, we are pleased to announce that 5 out of the 13 interns from the first batch have been offered employment at Meezan Bank. Encouraged by this achievement, we have launched the ‘Roshnaas’ program Batch 2 this year, reaffirming our commitment to providing meaningful employment opportunities for PWDs.
